They may be short in the leg department but for me Gymshark’s boxer briefs deliver comfort and support where it matters.
Men’s Fitness verdict
Just like these Gymshark boxers, we’ll keep it short and simple: these no-nonsense, quick-drying shorts offer a winning combination of performance and value.- Reinforced supportive pouch
- Wide, soft and comfortable waistband
- Fat flat-lock seams
- Short legs can ride up
With three pairs for just $36 in the US (of five for £40 in the UK), Gymshark’s simple boxer briefs are great value for money. Another reliable gym wardrobe workhorse, they’re made from a mix of cotton and elastane. However, they have a more textured finish than the shiny, soft, smooth fabric you find on the Under Armour 6-inch Tech Boxerjocks and Reebok Performance Boxer Briefs. That gives them some extra breathability, sweat-wicking and quick-drying skills. I tested them for a month to see how they stack up against the rest of the best moisture-wicking underwear.

Gymshark Boxer Brief features
Tested on runs, strength sessions, Wattbike spin intervals and other high-movement workouts where support is important, I found they don’t disappoint. They move well with your body and show no signs of rubbing, chafing or heaviness on short workouts.
However, I felt the leg length is a touch shorter on the thigh and they can rise up quite high when you’re doing things like deep squats and lunges. But the support was good for everything but the highest impact drills and activities and they’re still pretty versatile and comfortable.
The waistband’s wide and soft and did a great job of staying put even when I was reaching and stretching. I had no trouble with rolling or cutting either. Seams are kept to a minimum but the reinforcements that carve out the slightly thicker pouch are quite fat and there are probably better endurance-friendly options out there that carry less chafe risk.
Durability looks good: they continue to hold their shape after numerous washes. They dry fast too, which is a bonus. It’s worth noting that there’s no front-fly easy access.
The Gymshark boxers come in white, black and green with different color waistband options and they’re available in seven sizes from XS to 3XL.
