Our team of reviewers are experienced testers of all manner of fitness kit. While testing out this backpack, MF tester Kieran Alger assessed the top in terms of comfort, fit, and sweat-wicking capabilities. The testing process involved wearing the top through a range of varied workouts, from longer runs and gym classes to lifting sessions at the gym, to see how the top performed.

It uses innovative Poly-Tencel fabric – a mix of recycled polyester and Tencel – that not only gives it the breathability, comfort and softness of a performance technical tee, but also makes it friendlier to the environment.
I found it had a loose and airy fit, more like a regular cotton tee, so it wasn’t too body-hugging. However, at 180g, it’s heavier than many of the training tops I tested. For a heavy-duty tee, though, I found it was surprisingly good at shifting sweat off the body. I’d say you can use it for lower-intensity gym sessions, too.
Dephi Tech Tee: high-tech features
The fabric features odour-fighting antimicrobial tech, so in theory you can tackle multi-day adventures without kicking up a stink. Though a lot depends on how much you sweat. It’s also treated with UP50+ protection, to offer a screen from ultraviolet rays and to boost its hot weather workout credentials.
I had no problems with durability. My top went through multiple wash cycles without losing shape or leeching colour. Speaking of colours, the subtle tones and classic tee styling makes it a good option for kicking back pre- and post-adventure, too.
